Student Sponsorships

From the start on we have provided student sponsorships. We provide sponsorships to various students but focus on children from our women groups. By sponsoring a student, not only do you take a great burden off of that child and his or her family, but you are also improving the overall quality of the school by giving it access to much needed funds for improving the school.

So far this year AUDA has been able to give out 130 student sponsorships.

One of the organizations that has greatly helped us accomplish this is Education and More. Karen Pickett is the driving force behind educationandmore.org and Auda thanks everybody involved.

Expenses for a student sponsorship.

The costs are never 100% acurate. We have set up an average of prices which barely cover the costs of the average sponsorship.

Elementary School	$100
Junior High School	$200
High School	$350

The sponsorships include:

• Inscription fee (if applicable)
• School materials

Then depending on the location and type of school/grade we have to decide per case what we can provide more. This can be anything, from a backback, gym shoes to a musical instument or traveling costs. Many parents can not provide education for one or more of their children because they can′t afford the School materials or bus/pickup fair. Sometimes students have extra expenses on books or fieldtrips. As much as possible we try to keep them from missing out on anything.

The Guatemalan schoolyear starts in January and ends in October/November. Throughout the year we are on the lookout for sponsors who are willing to help a child in Guatemala to get their education.
