PROJECTS

Home Improvement:

Porch of Solomon teams from Florida that  came in March  and we celebrate the completion of Lucia's homes.

Lucia and her two young children lives in a home of their own. After a generous  donation of land from an individual in El Tablon, Lucia finally has a home in which to raise her children.

We want to give a special thanks to Element3 in Tallahassee, Florida. And St. George Island, Florida, that donated the funds and labor to build Lucia's house.

www.Porch de Salomon, Porch de Salomon is a response to God calling a family into a life of love and service in Panajachel, Guatemala. We hope to bring the passion of the first century church to those who live in a 21st century world. In Acts 5, Solomon’s Porch is described as a place for the believers to meet and carry out their healing ministries and a sending point for them to take Christ’s message into the world.

If you would like to donate money towards continuing relief efforts around the lake, please contact us.

The Community   Fund:

One of AUDA’s top priorities is investing in the future of our communities by promoting education. A percentage of the proceeds from every fair trade product sold   is  put  into a School Aid Fund, which supports scholarship programs for children, especially those coming from single parent homes. Without this program these children would otherwise be unable to attend school.

Currently, children in Panajachel, San Juan Laguna   and San Antonio, Choa Cruz and El Tablon  Solola  enjoy actively attending school through the  funding  of  the School Aid Fund.

With the help of World of Good Development Organization, http://www.worldofgood.org, AUDA has been working to finish the elementary school in San Antonio Palopo, Guatemala. With its added size, the school will now allow the town’s children to continue their education beyond the 5th grade.

On Going Projects:

As AUDA continues to grow and expand, it hopes to develop new social programs. AUDA believes that direct community involvement in both the conception and implementation of a project is an important part of any successful, sustainable community program. Therefore, our projects will originate from and be assisted by discussions with AUDA group members and community leaders.

Community Pilas:
AUDA hopes to build pilas, a communal clothes washing site, for the women of San Antonio Palopo. A community pila would prevent the women from having to wash their clothes standing in the cold waters of Lake Atitlan, a process which has been known to cause approach to clothes washing; and would help to keep the Lake free from soaps, detergents and other pollutants. the women extreme pain and arthritis. Also, a pila is a more environmentally friendly

• Clean Water Project, Choacruz:

There are 10 families that now have fresh spring   water running in their homes. A new water deposit tank was constructed.   May the Lord God Bless the 24 missionaries from Africa that came and donated their time and energy for two weeks to carry cement and piping  800 feet up the mountain, built a holding tank half way down the mountain, cleaned up the old holding tank and put a new cap to store water for the dry season. Thanks to all that gave towards this project.  Many hearts of other who have little more than others to help those who have very little to nothing …  their donations reach this small community and made a difference.

May God bless all that you do and your desire to help others, Pastor Benjamin Meijer and his wife Liliam of Panajachel- AUDA’s Projects Construction Manager and School Aid Coordinator.
